Chinatown Elder, Writer, Editor, Translator, Artist
Swallow is a writer, editor, translator, and an artist in the fields of balloon art and party decorations, jewelry making, and painting. She's a dedicated community worker who's been supporting the DTES for over a decade through teaching seniors English, setting up a senior singing choir, cooking for community members, and translating. She's worked with many organizations, including the DTES Women Centre and the Heart Festival, where she performed with a dance group. She also teaches traditional Chinese exercise, Baduanjin.

Alessa (she/they/he)
Founding Member, Board Member
Alessa is a transgender woman, refugee, and sex worker. She’s worked as an advocate and artist with PACE Society, Centre for Gender and Sexual Health Equity (Community Research Hub): AESHA/SHAWNA: BC Bad Date & Aggressor Reporting Project. She is also part of the Peer to Peer Community Co-op (PPCC).

Co-coordinator, Board Member
katie is a queer settler committed to intersectional, anti-oppressive community-building practices. She’s worked with the Downtown Eastside community in various roles and is the former co-coordinator of the overdose prevention peer witnessing program at CRAB Park Tent City. She is currently employed as a transitional housing support worker.

Louise (she/they)
Founding Member, Board Member
Louise Boilevin was born and raised a Vancouverite who grew up in Kits, and has been a peer worker for years at PACE, the VWHC, Megaphone, and WISH (amongst many). Politically active and a champion for human and animal rights, Louise has taken part in marches for social housing, sex worker rights, and the movement to stop animal cruelty. She's a proud, active sex worker

Ryan (all pronouns)
Founding Member, Board Member
Ryan is a non-binary Filipino-Canadian who works as a youth worker at Covenant House and is part of the Peer to Peer Community Co-op (PPCC). She has been supporting folks in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) since 2022 as a volunteer and peer worker on the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Project, a research project highlighting women and gender-diverse peoples’ experiences of violence in the DTES.

Board Member, Co-coordinator
lonnes is a community organizer in poverty reduction, a board member of the Society for Advocacy for Gender-Affirming Healthcare (SAGAH) and the co-coordinator and co-founder of the Peer to Peer Community Co-op (PPCC), whose mission is to empower poor communities to address poverty challenges while fundamentally altering the systems perpetuating those economic inequalities. lonnes also believes in storytelling as a tool for systemic change and writes sci-fi romances on sexyaliens.ca.
